The King of the Road Chapter
of the Antique Automobile Club of America
is a unique organization. It commenced in June, 2015, in Leesburg, Florida. Oddly, we have no meetings, no minutes and no mission statements to get in our way. The club is best defined as “Drive Your Ride”
. Officially, the chapter is a branch road of the Ocala Region - Kingdom of the Sun
. Monthly activities usually take members to Lake, Sumter, Marion, Citrus, Hernando, Pasco or Orange County locations in central Florida. Rather than mundane meetings, the club prides itself on exercising our antique automobiles or trucks to a nearby venue each and every month. No roll calls, no treasurer’s report, no motions from the floor - just pure fun caravanning to and from interesting destinations, like cruise-ins, concours, restoration garages, car collections, restaurants, sporting events, parks or museums. There's always something for the guys, and the gals too. Best part is, we get to meet other local old car enthusiasts and admire their "rides" as well. In February, 2017 we helped host the AACA 2017 National Winter Meet, again in March, 2019 we helped host the AACA 2019 National Winter Meet and in April 2021 we helped host the 2021 Southeastern Divisional Chain Of Lakes Tour
. We are not exactly a "Fly By Night" little club. So, check the dip stick, kick the tires and top off the tank, 'cause we’ve changed the phrase “The meeting is called to order.”
to “Road trip!”
We are "KING OF THE ROAD"!
